Austin Hadland

November 22, 1920 ~ August 15, 2021 (age 100)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Austin Gillett Hadland.  Austin passed away on August 15, 2021 in Fort St. John, British Columbia.

His joy was Evelyn, his wife of 71 years, socializing with family and friends, gardening, and his farm.

A private grave side burial service will be held for the family on September 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm.  For those who wish to join the family via livestream - Click Here.

A community Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in 2022.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Austin to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.

The Joy of Living

by Olivia Robinson Wright

To see a lovely sunrise in nature's golden sky,

To watch the graceful motion of a river drifting by,

To walk along a pathway that winds among the trees,

To hear the quiet murmur of a gentle evening breeze.

This is the Joy of Living

To listen to the music of a song the skylark sings,

To view a distant rainbow with all the hope it brings,

To greet a lonely stranger with a reassuring smile,

To show concern for others and to walk the extra mile.

This is the Joy of Living

To be forever grateful for all the gifts life sends,

To realize the value of kind and treasured friends,

To love and be the person you were meant to be,

And live each precious moment in peace and harmony.

This is the Joy of Living.
