Elizabeth Muriel (Banks) Ibbitson

With great sadness we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ibbitson.

Elizabeth Muriel Ibbitson was born September 6, 1951 in Yorkshire, England.  She was the eldest of six children born to William and Muriel Banks - Alison, Duncan, Faith and Heather (twins), and Christine.  Elizabeth grew up in Fort St. John, BC where the family had relocated.

At the age of 19, Elizabeth moved to New Brunswick where she met Glen Ibbitson.  She and Glen were married April 10, 1971, and all of their children were born in New Brunswick.  Then, in 1985, they moved back to Fort St. John where they remained until her passing.

Elizabeth loved camping and the outdoors.  Fishing was her greatest hobby as well as her "happy place."  She also had a great love of hockey.  The Vancouver Canucks were her favourite team.

Elizabeth was baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses in Vancouver in July 1969.  She was a very loyal, faithful, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and servant of Jehovah.

Elizabeth leaves to mourn her husband, Glen Ibbitson; daughters, Beth Elliott, Julie (Logan) Zwaryck, and Amy Ibbitson; grandchildren, James Ibbitson, Ethan Elliott, Kiara Joseph, Luke Zwaryck, Damarys Zwaryck, and Jakob Elliott; and great-grandchildren, Keenan Ibbitson, Paxton Ibbitson, James Ibbitson, and Braylee Ibbitson.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, William and Muriel Banks.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall in Fort St. John, BC.
