Duguay, Shirley Winiford Myra ( Shirley, Mum, Mom) nee Mann

June 26, 1937 – September 6th, 2023

On September 6, 2023 our beloved Mother, Memere, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend passed away in Fort St John, BC in her 86th year.

Shirley has gone on to be with her love, Delphis, her love of nearly 60-years. Delphis and Shirley met in Elliott Lake, Ontario in 1964, not leaving each others side.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children; Brent (Deanne), Christine & Todd.  Grandchildren; Matthew, Samuel, Arianne (Cole), Dawson & Karlee. Siblings; Geraldine, Della and Ronald and numerous family members and cherished friends.

Predeceased by her parents; Donald M Mann & Caroline I Mann (nee Wallace), siblings; Wallace and Pamela.

Shirley was born in Ansonville Ontario.  Raised in Timmins Ontario.  In the mid 1960’s, travelling with her love across the Northern USA in the middle of winter with goal of relocating to Vancouver Island to build a life. First landing in Uclulet, then settling in Campbell River, BC until the passing of her beloved Delphis.

In March of 2022, Shirley relocated to live with her eldest son Brent, daughter in law Deanne and family in Chilliwack, BC. She thrived living in a location where she had family all around.  In summer, she spent time in Fort St John where she lived with her daughter Christine.

She loved and valued her family and friends.  A hard worker, homemaker, Momma Bear, amazing mother and friend to all who knew her. She could be counted on for love, support, strength and conviction.  Spending many hours patiently tending to family and friends. We have all been blessed by her beautiful love and bright smile. To the end, on the move, walking 3 miles a day, playful, warm, kind & determined.
