Obituary of Ernest Zimmer

Ernest Emil Zimmer, known to his loved ones as Ernie, passed away on February 26, 2024,
peacefully at home in Fort St. John, British Columbia. He left behind a legacy of faith, love for
his family, integrity and hard work. Born on March 18, 1934, in Russell, Manitoba, Ernie touched
the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Ernie was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mary, and a loving father to his sons, Larry
and Bob (Val). His grandchildren, Kristian, David (Caitlyn), Tim, and Bobbie, brought him
immense joy and fulfillment. He was beloved brother to Art, Gary, Betty, and was pre-deceased
by his brother, Bill.

Ernie's life was defined by his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. His love for his family was
evident in everything he did, and he worked tirelessly as a carpenter/cabinet maker well into his
80’s providing for and supporting those he held dear. His kindness, compassion, and wisdom
were a source of strength and guidance for his family and friends.

A memorial service to honour Ernie will be held at 2 pm on March 2, 2024, at the Fort St John
Alliance Church, where those who knew and loved him will come together to remember his life
and legacy. Following the service there will be a coffee time with coffee and muffins provided.
Previous to the memorial service interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery for close
family.

In lieu of flowers, Ernie's family kindly requests that donations be made to the Gideon's, an
organization that provided Bibles to those that needed them. Ernie served the Gideon Ministry
for 25 years and handed out thousands of Bibles to our community. Contributions can be made

and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Our family would like to express our gratitude to all who have offered your support and
condolences during this difficult time. Your kind words and love have been a source of comfort
as we remember Dad/Grandpa.

Ernie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace, knowing that his impact on our lives will endure for generations to come.
